As per usual, Kyle and I decided to go for our ceremonious drive about insulator hunt after the much-lauded Mid Ohio show ended on Sunday of this past weekend.

While we didn't find altogether too much of any real significance, this is befitting the tradition of our post-show hunts as we never seem to turn up all that much. Regardless, it was appropriately fun to get out as it always is. Kyle and I don't have too many chances to check out the lines south of the U.S.-Canada border, so it's always fun just to see something different in use in the very least.

This years insulator hunt found us along a line with an inordinate number of CD 162 Hemingray 19s still on poles. Even without spending much time hunting its many standing pole lines, I am altogether too familiar with the number of Hemi 42s on poles along various lines throughout the rust belt. This particular line, however, didn't have more than a dozen of them spread out across the dozens of poles we checked. More than 90% of the insulators on this line consisted of dark aqua and ice blue Hemingray - 19 CD 162s. We checked for embossing errors or junk in glass, but didn't see a lick of either.

After gathering some grounders, Kyle and I made our way onto the next line. It and the line after it didn't produce much to show for our efforts, but it's always worth the effort. Next year we'll strive for those mint threadless we still haven't found while visiting Mid Ohio!
