Here's a rare advertisement cup with a beautiful colorized drawing of the porcelain factory in Merkelsgrun, Bohemia. It is dated 1922. This new discovery proves they made porcelain insulators as the cup is made into a life size replica of an actual insulator- complete with wire groove and cable top (the pinhole has been fashioned into a drinking cup)! This factory was the predecessor to the Merklin porcelain factory located in Czech Republic. There is a tribute to the fire department on the reverse (who possibly saved the factory). For a profile view of the insulator [id=447813291]. No chips or cracks but there is some fading of the gold trim around the outer rim. Never seen another one! This rare collectible is available to the first email for only $220 postpaid. Thanks! |
