The four good pieces from the Craigslist add from last week on Long Island, N.Y. I suspect the four eared pieces were used in some sort of indoor installation or were used way out on Long Island as they are rather clean for a New York piece the other stuff was mostly typical ConEd stuff I was intrigued by the white U-380 which it turns out is an unmarked Fred Locke U-380. The brown U-392s are both Thomas units (they are "green trimmed" ,have no mould lines like the Pittsburgs and have a clean smooth firing rest) and the last is a U-387 with a nice glossy glaze, interesting highlights and a large R=00 marking . I will for sure keep one of the thomas units just because they are really cute and cool looking things (what an odd design!) and use the other three as traders . My understanding is these Thomas pieces are pretty scarce . |
