Power line transpositions - photo 2

These power line photos were taken between Blessing and Palacios, Texas in January 2010. I do know that transpositions were required on telegraph and telephone lines to prevent crosstalk. Why would a power transmission line need one? Was this for stability or weight distribution reasons?

Answer: Electromagnetic fields are a difficulty on any line, regardless of application. Therefore, it is necessary to balance the phases to reduce voltage losses.
