Here is an interesting juxtaposition. An early CD 145 EIN [100] (F-Skirt) H.G.CO. (R-Skirt) PETTICOAT SB in green aqua alongside a root beer amber Four Roses whiskey bottle with original drinking cap made by Owens Illinois, a later successor to H.G.Co. The exact embossing of the bottle is: (Front) [space for label]/ONE PINT/13 (Rear) FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS SALE/OR RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLE/[space for label]/D 11/BUY THIS BOTTLE ONLY IN/TIN TOP SEALED CARTON (Base) (arc) T.M. REG. U.S.PAT.OFF./56 [O.I. Logo] 4/(arc) PAT. PENDING. The cap says (arc) LOUSIVILLE/FRANKFORT/DISTILLERIES/—INC.—/(arc) BALTIMORE. The bottle is mint; the insulator is one pinpoint peck on the rear crown from mint. The bubble at the front base below the C is open. I'm asking $10 plus postage for this somewhat anachronistic pair.
