Brookfield wasn't the name of the flea market I spend most of the morning collecting these five insulators and a steel double insulator hanger. Although Brookfield, Mass. is only a stones throw away from Brimfield where the flea market will be taken place for the next six days as well.

Could help thinking of a couple dicussions at the digest with this bunch. The skirt embossed peice is what has been called the Dark Vader style. The pony I wasn't sure about until I artived home and looked in my book to ID. Thought it might be a CD 102.3. All I really remembered was that someone had a pony just like mine and there was a debate as to which CD number it should or should not be considered. Now I surely understand why that subject came up. What I have must be the original fat boy with W, Brookfield on the front skirt. I've had other W,Brookfield ponies but there were not quite so wide across the base. BTW, this insulator is actually the only one not picked up at the flea market. It came from a very small antique shop I've only stopped by once in all the years I been going to the Brimfield Flea Market. I knew he had insulators but his prices were way to high. I only purchased the CD 102 today because of charector it has and the price was reasonable. But anyway, while I was checking out the many insulators on the shelves in the shop's front window he would occassional interupt me with another insulator in his hands. They were all very nice but priced to high for my likes. Finally after about the forth interruption I asked where he was getting all those insulators from? After all most of what were in the window three layers deep were commons. He lead me into the bathroom and opened up the closet. I could believe my eyes. Two deep shelves had all different colors and CD number. Could help but think that there truely was such a thing as a closet collector.

To end this story and before leaving the antique shop and retrieved my price guide and showed the closet. Can't wait to go back in the future and see if the price tags stay as they are. He did write down the price guide website so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
