All these insulators were purchased on my Forth of July from a lineman that lives just outside Hartford Conn.. As you may imagine my remorse let up some for not being able to make the Sandwich National this weekend. I am actually quite overwhelmed with the contents I returned home with from this hunt which started by my ever searching of Craigslist listings. The seller only had one of the BMGCO purple CD 134's pictured in the ad. I call to confirm at least that one was still with the 28 piece collection. I was told there was actually two purples due to the wife finding another and added it to the bunch. The pic was awful bad and dark so I still wasn't sure if one of the CD 121's you see was maybe a WGMCo. Boy was I pleased I was mistaken when I saw there was a second 134 not pictured. Actually I couldn't even see the embossing on the one I did know was purple or which CD number it was being shot down at an angle. Obviously once I saw the two of them on the top layer in the box I knew my over two hour journey was well worth it (read on there is more) especially being I stuck out at the flea market which was located half way between home and point B. Also much to my surprise there were two Brookfield CD 121's with blotouts on the rear skirts that will fit into my specialty collection of them very well. They are pictured on the right side of my pic. Both are different color wise then any I had (and I have many). One is a light blue with fizz throughout. The other is a light minty green color. It has lots and lots of snow. I've been keeping my eyes open for a very long time for a snowy piece. I can tell you for sure they are very, very rare. In fact I was starting to wonder if there was such an animal. And I'm not just talking about a few piece of broken off fire bricks her. To end the long post I most add the I may have found both the smallest glass insulator and the smallest guy wire insulator known to mankind. If anyone knows what that are please provide me with all the info you can about them. That would be much appreciated. Update: Found out the little glass piece is a CD 1095 spool and the small guy wire strain are made even smaller. They most me used on model train displays! |
