CAL.ELEC.WORKS/PATENT with character from the early days of communications .Made in the 1880's for use on Telegraph and Railroad lines. This example came out of the oven to soon and leaned well to one side during the cooling process. Looks like some cracks appeared then or later when this specimen was screwed down tightly on a pin. In any case, these are wonderful examples of the early days of communications., ..........A LEANER with some LIGHT AMBER SWIRLING and OFFSET PIN HOLE.........2 chips on lower wire groove (1 pinky sized above WORKS on right front quarter and a 1" chip on the left rear quarter, pictured above)........Internal cracks in the skirt.
