The forementioned telegraph line pararelled this Maine railroad right-of-way. A ten-pin telephone open wire lead also is seen along the right. Note that two diagionally-spaced lag bolts held its crossarm in place (older method) instead of the single through-bolt arm construction that pretty much became universal among comms and electric utilities (as it is today) when this image was taken.
