Lots of nice old openwire construction here ;-) On the far left is an old slightly tilted "pencil-top" pole that likely supported telephone circuits upon its three 6-pin crossarms. Looking a bit to the right, trolley and electric service lines extended along each side of this Maine roadway. Trolley companies sometimes had their own private telephone lines mounted on poles connecting to their central dispatcher. Perhaps some of this openwire was for that purpose as well. |
