I have recently researched and explored the 1907 built power transmission line at Kinlochleven, on the west coast of Scotland. The line was originally constructed to supply power for the building of the dam and pipeline at Kinlochleven which would supply water to the newly built Aluminium factory and power house in the small town. Once construction had finished in about 1912, the line was dismantled. Sadly, little evidence is left today but it still made for a fun hunt! Here I can be seen standing next to one of the 1920s telephone poles at the top of the valley. |
