My local friend and fellow collector, Reed Caldwell, got this at a local auction recently for 14.00! He is not on the internet, so I get to share the story! He previewed this and a box of glass. Being fairly new to the hobby, he only noticed the groove near the bottom by the base and thought it interesting enough to bid on. He said he did not even note it was threadless at the time. He missed winning the box of glass when it went too high in price. He had to go so left a bid with the auctioneer of 15.00 for the one remaining insulator in the auction. The auctioneer lives near Reed, so dropped it off at his house (and the extra dollar) later that day. It was only after holding it again this second time he noticed it was threadless! Wednesday he got the piece to me to ask me anything I could tell him about it. The piece is in amazing condition with no flakes/chips/etc. |
