Repaired Fred Locke multipart insulator from 1903 and an extra top ... Thise one I dug up two days ago. I went back and found a few more parts and was able to repair the complete original insulator .. I love recovering this stuff even if it needs to be glued back together as few whole ones will ever be found . Most Fred Locke Multiparts were obsolete and being removed from service in the 1920's so finding one that can be saved is a real challenge under the best of circumstances. Because they have been out of service so long it is very rare to find them . With only about five whole examples of these known to exist there are just not enough to go around... Fortunately I have managed to find about nine more over the last six years that could be repaired so at least a few collectors will get the chance to own one... I wish I could find 20 of them... they'd all find homes I am sure smile emoticon This particular shape was known as the "Hudson type " and various versions were manufactured for many years by all later manufacturers but the original 1902-03 Fred Locke pieces were only used mainly on the 33kV line from Spire Falls north of Saratoga Springs N.Y. to the GE plant in Schenectady .
