You just don't come across a find like this very often!! This is a BRAND NEW "OLD STOCK" ANTIQUE Lightning Rod Insulator. It has NEVER been in use!! This piece, along with 1 other, was found in a rock chimney recess on an old house in Boaz Alabama. When the roofers were putting on a new roof and tearing down the old lightning rods, one of the workers saw 2 spare insulators sitting in that recess in the rock chimney. They were rescued and are being offered here for sale!! One way you can tell it was never used is that small piece of glass hanging down on the inside of the wire groove. There is a tiny shallow flake next to one of the holes and a little rough spot on the inner base, but this was obviously damaged during transport or during manufacture. Condition issues are extremely minor. The piece is absolutely beautiful and sparkling clean! The crosstop ears are undamaged!! An amazing little lightning rod insulator!! You never see these in such great condition!!
