Yreka, CA 1908, RR Telegraph and Sidepin Openwire Comms Lines

The line along the left no doubt was for telegraph service. The three-sidepin lead on the right might have served local telephone customers. It is quite interesting that three sidepins were used in this installation. I presume these were for separate subscribers on a one-wire ungrounded system (the "other" wire or ground connection was placed at the customers' premises).
