When digging around the foundations of a heavy strain tower, Mike and I found the original tower number tag! Tower No. 79 is a special corner tower utilizing very odd engineering. Each of the three foundations had wrought iron chains mounted in the cement that were used as some sort of bracing technique to reduce stress on the structure. This tower also may have presented Ohio Brass tension strains. Mike informed me this style of early strains used porcelain as the tension portion and due to weak strength failed shortly after the lines completion.
