Steel was furnished by Carnegie for these monsters. Two different coats were applied post-erection, a black zinc and a red zinc, for protection. The last coating must have been in the late 1920s or early 1930s. If properly maintained, the transmission line would still be standing incredibly strong even today! Very heavily constructed line in every aspect.
