Today I made my first foray into the Victor dump since last spring a year ago ... I was not disappointed as I found what seems to be a completely new stile of Fred Locke cable insulator. This piece is unlike anything I have seen before and cannot find a reasonable look-alike in the U# chart . It has 1 3/8 threads and has the look (pinhole characteristics, smoother firing rest on the skirt ) of a Fred Locke that would have been produced in late 1901 before the factory fire . It is a unipart and not a glazeweld . The piece measures: 3 3/4" wide 3 1/2 " high. The top groove is 1 1/4" and the tire wire groove is 1" wide. It has just been asigned U-438

It looks like it fits into the general area of the U-481 but the inner profile and crown are different then anything in the chart ... any ideas on this one folks??
