I have been reading all the stories from everyone else about their chair leg insulators, so I figured I would chime in. I found this 152 on a pole, which I did not know was about 100 yards away from where a station was. The station was in Garrettsville Ohio, the one where the three ERW's came from, another story. But I was hunting with my dad, and I could see this insulator from the ground that something looked funny, so up the pole I went, and it came home with us. I did not know what caused it to be worn down so much, until maybe 15 years ago when I saw some pictures of other chair leg pieces.
