When I pulled into the parking lot of a small antique shop I frequent I thought I saw two domes sticking out of a snow bank. Found out I was correct when I got closer and learned the domes I saw were supposed to represent eyes of a makeshift snowman. I removed the right eye first and it was the Brookie which was damaged. When I pulled the left eye out I was very surprised it was Hawley. Was quite disappointed to find it was beat up on the top and bottom side of the wire groove on the front side and was also cracked. Immediately I hoped that there may be another Hawley pony around if I looked. And low and behold there sat another on a nearby table that wasn't covered in snow. Turns out it was mint condition with only a small section of extra glass that squeezed between the mold on the inside of the base was flaked. On the positive side it has a solid dome, two seperate milk stringers in that dome and a wide swarth of milk on the rear side of the skirt. Awersome looking piece I must say. To sum this adventure up I not only found my very first Hawley pony, I found two. After cleaning I sadly discovered that the damaged Hawley has much more milky swrls then the solid dome piece did all through the skirt portion. Anyone who would like to have it I will ship for a buck and actual shipping. Email me if you are interested. |
