Last weekend a massive storm hit here. Big snow followed by days of monsoonal rain and winds of 50-90 mph. That equals BIG STORM Damage. This weekend we headed up to the high mountains in search of the elusive THOMAS REDS M-3632's. Hunting storm damaged high altitude transmission lines has always been good for us and this storm made for a successful hunt. Here is a picture of the M-3632's in service on this line. I call these THOMAS REDS because the glaze is oh so close to RED. All of these are marked THOMAS 53 on the top of the conductor groove just below the firing rest. |
