A lineman for the South Shore Interurban was selling his railroad stuff including insulators on January 31, 2015 in La Porte, IN. That was the same day as the Crown Point, IN swap meet for the Greater Chicago Insulator club and I ended up going to the auction. I thought I would go up to the full book value on this since it was mint and had a clear ghost embossing of "PATENT" but there were a lot of collectors in the crowd with no idea of the rarity of pieces so let it go when it passed beyond the top book value.
