Tuesday evening (1/27) we got an email from someone asking us if we had gotten their package. We said no. He had given us the tracking number and it reported

"Your item was delivered in or at the mailbox at 4:40 pm on Monday, January 26, 2015 in CARLISLE, MA 01741."

The last time we checked the mail box was Monday at 3:30 pm, the evening of the Blizzard of 2015... So this morning (Wednesday) we made a daring rescue, walking down our 1,000 foot common driveway which is not plowed by the town. It had been "plowed" much earlier, and an additional 6" or more of snow had accumulated since then.

We were imaging all the situations based on where it might have been put. Buried in 3 feet of snow? Swept away down the street buried in another snow bank? ... To our relief, as we got closer, we saw it propped in the open mail box. Probably the best case as it was still "in" the mail box!

Sorry the picture is a little over exposed...
