The latter pertains to the electric lighting circuits and lines you see along the left. There are several cast iron distribution transformers in view. These converted higher-voltage (typically 1,100 or 2,200 volts primary) as strung along the uppermost crossarms of these poles to 110 volts secondary for area electric customers. A then-recently new telephone openwire pole line with paired covered cable beneath is also seen, along the right.
