These insulators show just what was out there in the mid 60's to early 70's. I collected all of these, some were in use and I replaced them with Hemingray-42's. The CD 162 Cobalt Blue Hemingray and CD 121 Olive Green Hemingray were on a x-arm that carried no wire. I collected three of the CD 234 Carnival's, one has a hole all the way through the skirt. Less interesting, and therefore not pictured were the following: CD 157 Hemingray in Aqua, CD 208 Hemingray in Aqua, and CD 210 Postal in Dark Aqua. Perhaps the oddest I ever found was a CD 257 Hemingray in Clear. It was stuck on a limb tied to a fence post. It had at one time supported a farmer built hoop and holler line. Pictured are: CD 219 Hemingray, CD 234 Pyrex, CD 162 Hemingray, CD 154 Whitall Tatum, and CD 121 Hemingray. |
