The pole line is rather difficult to see but nonetheless a nice example of rural New England a little more than a century ago. This village is in central Massachusetts (not to be confused with Braintree, MA which is a busy Boston suburb). New Braintree retains a lot of its rural and rustic charm, and is a popular community in the fall for visitors to enjoy the colorful foliage. Writing on the back of this picture tells us that this was taken during June 1908. |
