The latter can be seen between the trees over the centre of this New York state's residential street. This was an early version of a double-walled incandescent street lamp fixture. Electric lighting service wires ran atop the pole line on the right with what looks like a small cast iron distribution transformer also near the top. "Alley-arm" crossarm telephone circuits were beneath extending a bit beyond the tree branches.
