Very probably a common sight throughout in rural New England communities some 70 or so years ago... Electric service lines were strung atop this pole line with a radial wave incandescent street light immediately in between... right above a ten-pin-crossarm telephone subscriber circuit (those glass insulators must have also sparkled a little bit at night from the incandescent street lamp's brilliance too ;-). A wooden duplex pin was mounted on the underside of the telephone crossarm (on the left of it) likely for customer drop(s). |
