Up for sale is a pretty gorgeous milky-swirled medium purple B.T.C. CD 102. This one originated from a lineman's collection in London, ON last year, and was easily spotted amongst the other purples when the sun shone on them when being taken out of the box. There were two similarly swirled examples in the collection - the other will remain on my shelf! The colour of this one is a pretty normal medium purple shade, and the embossing is the standard "MONTREAL" blotted out under "CANADA", with really crude embossing overall, so you don't know if some letters have been blotted partially or not. The glass is full of fine milky wisps in every orientation. Certainly this one is a step above the normal aqua Canadian CD 102s you will often see with milky swirls. This one has a sizable, 1 7/8" flat fan crack in the rear skirt that makes it an unfortunately worn-looking peasant of an insulator. There is also a 1/4" faint fisheye on the rear right hand skirt, and a shallow annealing crack on the left upper wire ridge, though this last piece is definitely from manufacture and should not be fretted about too much. Overall, this one displays mint from the front, and would still make a great addition to an underlit cabinet, especially with a dark backdrop. Considering the damage, I'm asking $35 US plus shipping for this unique colour and impurity combo. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
