While Diamond CD 102s in aqua constantly plague Canadian collectors in their search for truly elusive Canadian insulators by being so very abundant, an unusual example actually does turn up from time to time. This one originated from a lineman's collection purchased earlier this year in S.W. Ontario and was picked up somewhere in the London, ON area during the 1960s-1970s when open wire lines in that area were being ripped down. It's a [040] Diamond CD 102 with the vertical bars on both skirts, and the dome glass on this one seems to come in at just over 1" thick - perhaps 1 1/8" even. Admittedly I don't have the specialty calipers designed for measuring dome glass thickness that Brian Riecker sports at shows, so I'll have to just do my best to estimate.

The condition of this one is pretty good. As can be seen in the photos, there is a 3/16" fisheye on the front crown of one side, and a couple other very small fleabites and scratches on the opposite dome side, but these are nothing that draw the eye at all until close scrutiny is offered. There are no substantial chips, cracks, scratches, etc. 10.00 U.S. plus shipping for this one. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
