A two-pin crossarm atop the pole in the foreground was for fire alarm telegraph. Beneath was a nice phone comms open wire line along with some electric lighting circuits strung in the background through this New Hampshire community's centre.

There probably were some early glass insulators in view made under the patents/supervision of Samuel Oakman from the Haverhill, MA and Lyndeboro, NH glass factories that were not too far away...
