I found this at an antique store last weekend in the "before" condition, and after soaking in oxalic acid all week, it's now in the "after" condition. I think it's a U-267, but I'm not sure who the manufacturer might be. It looks like someone scraped along the mold line on both sides before it was glazed, and the scraping goes almost to the top of the dome. And there are some rough edges on the upper wire guide lip, like the clay crumbled a little. It looks very early to me, but I don't have a good feel for how old it might. If anyone can tell me who might have made it and when, I'd appreciate it. I love the color, though. |
