On Sunday the 3rd four ponies running in two races put nearly $200 in my pocket at Saratoga. Spend just a fraction of that loot on the three ponies you see in my pic. Went to the fleamarket I used to go to weekly but didn't see a single insulator. Didn't want to return home empty handed so I rode my motorcycle to an antique store that is also up in the Catskill Moutains. The ride by itself is a wonderful experience and very enjoyable. That enjoyment increases when insulators are found worth obtaining. I've purchased a good number of insulators in the past from the same seller. Sometimes in the store when either he's there or not. Also if he also happens to be at one of the many fleamarkets I visit on a regular bases. The two Hemingray-42's would have stayed where I found them if there were not filled with fizz. They are both Hemingray Blues of one shade or another. Guess they are worth at least the 25 cents a piece I paid for them.

The porcellian is a Illonios U-26 as far as I can tell. Was already to buy even before I noticed it was marked while it was in the past owners hand. Has the Illinois map with a #30 at top of map and 109 inside. According to the Todd book there is only one of these reported in white. I imagine many more have been reported since that book was published.

Left of that porcellian piece I'm gonna send to Jack Snyder is a couple interesting Star ponies (forget it Jack). Wasn't sure at first whether to green insulator was a CD 101. Took a second or two to realize it was a 102 fat boy style. Don't believe I've ever found one before. Most are skinnier like the one on the right which has a star embossed on both the front and rear skirts. That ones pretty easy to figure out an EIN. Anyone out there know which EIN the yellow green and green two tone would be. I'd bet all single stared pieces with smoothe bases are all grouped into the same EIN unless they have S.F. blotted out or have blob tops. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has more experience with Star ponies then I do. Thanks.
