This community is located in the upper part of Cape Cod. It was served by the Cape & Vineyard and Electric Company for many years until their service territory was purchased by Commonwealth Electric at some time in the 1970s. At present all mainland Cape Cod communities are served by NStar Electric. In some locales pole line construction that faithfully survived many coastal storms since the 1930s still stand, notably those with 4kv circuits. Blue "hat style" Ohio Brass and low-voltage Pyrex pintypes can still be seen here and there on their older poles.
