Not too far from where this photo was taken the Oakman Glass Works once existed. They existed up until the late 1890s and many of their insulators were used in Boston and adjacent metro communities. The majority of their insulators were for electric power and trolley service cables. One can only imagine what kinds of nice Boston-area insulators were within view and nearby in this image ;-)
