Over the years I have walked/hiked many a miles of tracks and this is the first time I have ever seen this. I have seen insulators that came off the pegs and hung there by the wire, but the distance from the cross arm to where this insulator is hanging in mid air is well over 6 feet! Where did all that slack come from, and better yet, where did it go? Obviously somewhere along the way, some linesman decided that they needed to have something on this pole, so the glasss was replaced by a composite, yet the glass was left to hang in the mid air. I don't think the linesman, unless he was about 8' tall could have reached this if he climbed the pole to put the composite into service. |
