pole ownership and date nail

This is an example of the earliest pole nails known to exist in the United States. The 'NT' stands for 'Nebraska Telephone Company', and the '05' represents the year that the pole was installed, 1905. In 1912 the Nebraska Telephone Company was bought out by the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company, who continued to use pole nails with the letters 'LTT' on them.
