Avon, CT c.1914 Phone Openwire Pole, Shortened Crossarms

These look like "alley arm" crossarms for wire clearance from adjacent buildings and trees. Perhaps a tree line once existed alonside the left of this pole? At any rate, I think its non-standard appearance standing there looks pretty cool ;-)

I wonder if the Climax fuse factory shown here had anything to do with the specimens of "Climax" marked insulators found at the Brookfield dump years ago?
