Toronto, Ontario circa 1872. Yonge Street looking south at King. Another view of Yonge street looking in the opposite direction. Either the pole line switched sides south of King or the line has been upgraded and moved to the other side of the road. The tall pole on the right shows the transition toward crossarms in the 1870's - I count 15 threadless on the nearest pole, most are on either 2 or 4 pin crossarms with another 2 on sidepins and one at the top on the ridge pin. If you look at the full size picture you'll notice the wires look to be crossing the street in front of the buildings on the left and going down an alley way between some of the buildings
