On the left side of the image is a picture from a Craigslist ad for new 24" ceramic post insulators for $5 each in Jackson, Michigan. Coming home from Columbia City was the perfect opportunity to stop by the seller's house and buy a few. We asked him if he had any other insulators and he said all he had were some weird ones in a bucket in his shed. Turned out to be a 5 gallon bucket with all CD 257 Hemingrays. They were rescued from an old industrial building in downtown Jackson, Michigan. I bought an even dozen, all in excellent condition, and appearing to be mostly Hemi blue. I also bought 4 of the post insulators and they are still new in the original crate (he has a pallet of them). The perfect end to a fun day that began with a stop in Columbia City for a cool show, hitting several antique stores in southwest Michigan, then unexpectedly finding some cool glass when almost home! |
