Here is an olive amber/ aqua two tone color glass CD 162 "signal" style insulator with sharp drip points, which were commonly used along railway signal telegraph lines, city fire alarm and lighting circuits, and early telephone lines. The dome down through the wire groove appears as a solid olive amber, because the glass is thicker in that portion. Down through the skirt the amber breaks up and the amber striations become more pronounced in spots. An unusually odd Hemingray signal color that isn`t offered all that often. For character, there is a pea sized white pebble inclusion almost poking through the surface at the bottom of the inner skirt. Ten years ago they'd book for about $250-300. Because of the condition, I'll let this one go for a lot less.

[240] crisply embossed "HEMINGRAY / PATENT MAY 2 1893" across the skirt, and "PETTICOAT" on the reverse.
