This bridge was build by the New England Power CO. to access the sub on the other side of the river. The power house is just to my right and out of the picture. As you can see the bridge took on some substantial damage during hurricane Irene. It had been out of use for quite some time anyway. It was torn down shortly after this picture was taken.
