This Biblical storm affected most of the Northeast with incredible amounts of rain and some wind. Older dams (not anywhere prepared for anything like this) broke, thus flooding many cities and towns...right up to Maine. The historic and very powerful Hurricane of 1938 that roared up through New England two years later added much widespread insult to injury to pretty much the same regions. Added note: Note the "High Water Mark" inscription along with an arrow to the right....yikes!! |
