A radial wave incandescent street light also graces this photograph as seen on the right. Note the "break-arm" bracket on the middle crossarm which terminated a line wire on each side. From there a wire extended down each side of the line-break to the street light which was wired in electrical series. This one-wire method of street lighting was popular for over 100 years and is still used in some southern California communities, albeit with modern light sources.
