I have only been able to account for only 10 of these types of foamy mass Californias in collections. This one is base-lit to accentuate the foam quality. I previously suggested that this type of junk was not found in other insulators made by other manufacturers. Not entirely true. If you look at the publicity materials for the 2014 Farmington, NM NIA National, there is a photo of Tommy Bolack holding and gazing upon a green beehive with this foamy quality. Must be one of his favorites! I saw this base-embossed American beehive in person fresh from a Mexico picking trip, before it was consigned to an auction catalog.
