View looking south from the second curve on the track of the Oregon Electric Railway Museum in Brooks, OR. The 40 foot poles have been sticking up bare in the air for a few years, now people are amazed at how complete it makes the rail line look. The poles need a bolt through the tops to help preserve them. If you have a bolt, why not a crossarm with insulators? The insulators are mostly donated early small multiparts and power glass. The crossarms are 4x6 new lumber and the hardware was scrounged from local power utilities. Thanks goes to the many ICONers who helped with this project, utility companies and museum volunteers. |
