Up for sale is a pair of absolutely gorgeous Brookfield CD 162.1s. Both are the [035] embossing with a backwards '7' on their dome tops... oddly enough, both appear to be very different profiles from the wire groove down, but both bear the same shop number. Regardless, both are beautiful insulators with a bit of character happening. The piece on the left is a dark aqua and contains a few very well-defined amber streaks throughout the front and rear crown. As well, it has what appears to be a very sharp metal object hugging the very surface of the glass wedged into the rear upper wire ridge. A cool piece that would look fantastic back-lit in the collection of some passionate junk-in-glass or SDP Brookfield specialty collector. The piece on the right, while only weakly visible in the photo, is full of bits of coarse fire brick, scattered almost homogeneously throughout the glass - a beautiful contrast to the dark aqua-coloured glass, and most certainly also one for the specialty collection. Both pieces are uncharacteristically nice in condition for SDP Brookfields. The amber-swirled example on the left has 7 partially chipped drips (none completely gone), and one with only the very, very tip nicked off, as well as a 1/8" shallow flake on the front, lower wire ridge. The snowy example on the right, believe it or not, has exactly the same chipped drip configuration - 7 partially chipped drips and one with just the very, very tip nicked off. A coincidence if I've ever seen one! If you see 'em and decide you have to have 'em, I'm asking $16.00 U.S. plus shipping for each of the two. If you take both I'll do $29.00 U.S. plus shipping. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. All the best! |
