Finally went on another road trip yesterday. The show was labeled as an Antique show but was mostly bottle dealers. Zaphir Shamma was actually the only insulator dealer present and I picked up the Brookfield toll with blotouts and the New Eng Tel & Tel pony from him. The CD 162.1 Brookie to the left of the toll came from the seller to Zaph's right and my left being we were on opposite sides of his table. The show was over in Brewerton, NY which is 178 miles away according to my GPS. On the way back I stopped at an antique mall in Little Falls and picked the only other insulator of the day up. It a very dark smokey Armstrong's CD 155. I would have liked to have gone to Enfiled again but I had already made plans to meet Zaph in person for the first time. Also took advantage of visiting and spending some time with another insulator friend of mine in Onieda, N.Y.. So, all in all I had a great day even if I didn't find as many gems as I would have liked to have returned home with. The best thing about the toll from Zaph is that I have the exact same shade of emerald green but the shop number is different from the one I already had. Funny how my blotout collections manages to build itself without to much of my help except for my money. Isn't the first time one of these odd occurances happened. Guess that is why I buy them anyway!! |
