These wires extended from Boston through to Albany, NY and beyond along the east-west Boston and Albany Railroad right-of-way route for telegraph communications. This line was upgraded from a six-pin (1890s) iron-wire line extensively to a hard-drawn copper wired one with 10-pins (as shown) in some time in the mid 1910's. It stood until around 1990. Some Diamond-P insulators were found (albeit very few and widely scattered, in use on signal circuits) from Worcester, MA to Palmer, MA during the 1980s by the late Richard Gay, also of Worcester, MA.

An interesting assortment of many CD 162 (the slimmer version) Brookfield New York lettered insulators in varying shades of purple were used in the Ashland, MA stretch of this line.
