Insulator Collector Working on RR Signals

Here's what happens when a collector (that's me) is left with the responsibility of maintaining the signals on our short line railroad. Along with replacing electrical bonds and insuring the relays and circuitry are in working order, I decided the drop wire was way too low leading to the 1940's era case. There was a tiny spool doing the job when I arrived, so I decided a couple of my OB 6" disks from the '50's would look better along with a Chance strain relief at the "hot" end. The manager just smiled and shook his head when I showed him and he remarked that he would probably see more.
